Job Description - Project Manager
Reporting to VP of Technical Services : Plan, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors or staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Consults and reviews with management project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
- Develops project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans and allotment of resources for each phase of the project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
- Responsible for handling / overseeing more than one project at a time depending on scope of work of each project.
- Coordinates with Sales department and prepares scope of work (needs analysis) based on solution needed by customer.
- Formulates and defines technical scope and objectives of project for project personnel.
- Identifies and schedules project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
- Coordinates recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
- Assigns duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to project personnel.
- Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Establishes standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
- Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules and plans as required.
- Prepares project status reports and keeps management, clients, and others informed of project status and related issues.
- Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
- Coordinates and responds to request for changes from original specifications.
- Monitors project results against technical specifications.
- Develops and maintains technical and project documentation.
- Develops application /solution test plans for the project.
- Directs application /solution testing.
- Obtain, through customer satisfaction and acceptance testing, project signoff of completion.
Qualifications:
- College degree and 3 to 5 years Project Management experience in software technology industry
- Superior communication, management and writing skills
- Thorough understanding of Windows, Novell, UNIX, and/or Banyan Platforms
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase, and/or Oracle
- Experience in Document Management, Production Image Capture, Workflow, and Knowledge Management preferred
